For a few years now, I’ve been keeping tabs (and tags) on any native Australian bird or plant that has offered to model for me, and maybe a few that haven’t.
Over time, my instagram account has become an unofficial field log, documenting expeditions from Tasman Island in the south through to Cape Tribulation in the north.
Each photo has been an opportunity to pore over plant, bird and other field guides to learn a little bit more about Australian flora and fauna, and to consider our interaction with the natural world.
